Cookie and Analytics Preferences
Last updated:
ZomaLog, based in Tbilisi, Georgia, uses essential browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your settings and keep your diary available offline. This page explains the separate choice about usage analytics.
Essential storage
Our secure session cookie keeps you signed in. Browser storage holds your local diary, pending sync changes and settings. Signing out removes the local diary. Clearing browser data can remove changes that have not synced, so let pending changes finish first.
Optional usage analytics
Analytics stays off until you choose Allow. Skip leaves it off without limiting any app feature. Your choice is remembered in this browser's local storage. You can change it with the button on this page, also linked from Me → Privacy preferences.
When allowed, a random value in session storage connects events within the same tab visit and expires after 30 minutes of inactivity. It is reset at sign-out. We use our own server's Umami installation to count fixed page names, feature use, broad device/browser/language categories, errors and broad time-spent buckets. This is not a persistent account or device identifier.
No food, weight, nutrition values, health answers, search text, photos, account identity, full URL or IP address goes to Umami. There are no advertising cookies, third-party analytics calls, session replays, heatmaps or cross-site tracking. Analytics events are removed after 90 days, with backup copies expiring within 7 additional days.
Browser privacy signals
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track disable analytics even if you previously chose Allow. You can also block the first-party /analytics.js script or /api/v1/analytics collector. If analytics is disabled on the server, no optional analytics script runs and the preference button is absent.
Blocking essential session cookies prevents sign-in. Declining optional analytics does not.
