Delete Your Account
Last updated:
You can delete your ZomaLog account and all its data at any time, for free, in the app or by email. Deletion is permanent and completes within 24 hours, and your data rolls off our encrypted backups within 35 days. You may want to export your data first.
This page is for ZomaLog, the calorie and nutrition tracker for iPhone, Android and the web.
Before you delete
- Export your data. In the app, go to Me → Export data. We email you a link to a file with all your data in JSON and CSV, and the link works for 24 hours. The delete screen offers an export too. After deletion, we can't recover anything.
- Cancel store subscriptions. Deleting your account doesn't cancel Plus bought through the App Store or Google Play. Cancel it in the store first; the app shows you where. Plus bought on the web is canceled automatically.
- Refunds. Deleting your account doesn't refund a purchase. See our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
Delete your account in the app
- Open ZomaLog on your iPhone or Android phone, or on the web at zomalog.com/app, and sign in.
- Go to Me → Account → Delete account.
- Read what will be deleted, and export your data if you want to.
- Confirm by signing in again with Apple, Google or an email code. You don't need a password.
You're signed out on all your devices at once. We email you when deletion is complete, within 24 hours.
Delete your account without the app
Email [email protected] from the email address on your ZomaLog account, with the subject "Delete my account". We reply to that address to confirm it's you, then delete your account the same way and email you when it's done. We handle requests as soon as we can, and always within 45 days.
If you use Sign in with Apple with Hide My Email, you can't send from that hidden address. Email us from any address instead, and we'll send a confirmation to your hidden address that you can reply to. Or sign in on the web at zomalog.com/app and delete your account there.
What we delete
- Your diary: foods and meals, water, weights and notes
- Your plan, your targets and their history, your setup answers and any health context you shared
- Recipes, saved meals, favourites, foods you created and barcodes you linked
- Your settings, reminders and permission records
- Photos you uploaded (labels, product fronts and meals) and your export files
- Your email address, your sign-in links with Apple, Google or email, and your sessions and devices
We also revoke ZomaLog's Sign in with Apple tokens with Apple, delete your customer record at RevenueCat (our purchase service), and cancel any web subscription with Paddle.
What we keep, and for how long
- Encrypted backups, for up to 35 days, then they're gone. If we ever restore a backup, we re-apply your deletion before anything goes live.
- A deletion record: a one-way code made from your account ID, and the date of deletion, with no email and no content. We keep it only so that a restored backup can never bring your account back.
- Products you added to the shared catalog stay there as open data, with no link to you, including public photos of those products. If you opted in to Open Food Facts, products already shared there stay there too.
- Anonymous totals with no identifiers, such as how many entries were logged on a day or how many people logged a food.
- Purchase records with your account details removed, which we keep for accounting and tax. Apple, Google and Paddle keep their own payment records under their own legal obligations; Paddle does so as merchant of record.
- Server logs, which hold an internal account ID but none of your content, and crash reports, which aren't linked to your account, until Grafana Cloud and Sentry delete them automatically at the end of their retention periods.
- Emails you sent to support, until we no longer need them to help you. Ask us and we'll delete them sooner.
- Anything you sent to AI features went without anything that identifies you, and the provider keeps it only for the retention period listed in our Privacy Policy.
Can I undo a deletion?
No. There's no grace period. If you sign in again later, you'll start a new, empty account.
